Joint Gleaning Program
Gleaning is the secondary harvesting of food that would otherwise remain unused. NCDA&CS Food Distribution has entered into an agreement with The Society of St. Andrew to help with the costs of packaging and freight for foods that are gleaned. If you have food or crops that you would like to donate, contact:
FOOD RECOVERY
During fiscal year, October 1, 2005 - September 30, 2006, reimbursement of packaging and freight through TEFAP administrative funds, has allowed Society of St. Andrew - North Carolina to distribute 3,376,993 pounds of produce. This has been done at an overall cost of 2 cents per pound.
