Management
The
Position Management Section administers the classification and pay system and
the Hours of Work and Overtime Compensation Policy. Each position is assigned
a formal classification title and corresponding salary grade, based on position
design and within established guidelines that are provided by the Office of State
Personnel.
The
Hours of Work and Overtime Compensation Policy complies with the Fair Labor Standards
Act. This Policy ensures that employees must be paid not less than the established
minimum wage and provides guidelines on overtime compensation. Employees who are
determined to be subject to the Hours of Work and Overtime Compensation Policy
must be paid at a premium time and one-half rates or granted equal time off for
hours worked in excess of 40 within a week.
