Safety and Health Administration
The
Occupational Safety and Health Section of Personnel provides advice to North Carolina
Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services managers and oversees the safety
and health program. Obtaining a safe and healthful workplace for employees requires
safety contributions from all levels of the organization.
The
safety director acts as the focal point for management and staff to glean information
relating to OSHA requirements and conducts inspections and audits of division
safety program to ensure safety goals are met. As an ex-officio member of the
Department Safety Committee, the safety director provides technical information
for the committee to formulate and recommend safety program enhancements for management's
implementation. Medical surveillance and wellness programs are also coordinated
through the safety and health section.
