Blueberry Promotions for 2008
As the harvest season gets started around May 12, 2008, the North Carolina Promotional Program is also working to promote North Carolina Blueberries to the consumer, food service industry and other potential customers.

North Carolina Blueberries are advertised in a specialty publication, “Sunbelt Foodservice,” distributed to over 30,000 foodservice professionals in the 13 states for the months of May, June and July. Preceding these issues North Carolina Blueberries were featured in an article in the April issue.
North Carolina Blueberries will be a feature at the May 17 - 20th National Restaurant Show in Chicago at the booth of Riviana Foods, a major US rice company. North Carolina Blueberries were donated by Solo Foods, Burgaw, NC and a prominent sign in the booth reading “proudly serving North Carolina Blueberries” will draw attendees attention to our state and commodity. This is promoted as the “largest foodservice and hospitality event in the western hemisphere.” The 2008 show will feature 2,150 exhibiting companies showcasing products and services in more than 890 product categories and attract 74,000 attendees from all 50 states and 115 countries.
North Carolina Blueberry poster advertising will be in place in the following malls across North Carolina.
- Independence Mall, Wilmington – June
- Hanes Mall, Winston Season – June and July
- Four Seasons Mall – Greensboro – June and July
- Asheville Maill - Asheville - July and August
- Carolina Place- Charlotte - July
- North Gate Mall - Durham (a wall mural) - June and July
Look for North Carolina Blueberries on Pender, Brunswick and Columbus County vans in May and June. There will be 6 ads in Brunswick County, targeting the local residents and coastal tourists. In addition there will be 2 van ads in Pender and Columbus counties.

Transit advertising on city buses in Asheville is spreading the news about NC Blueberries across these city during the months of July and August.
Look for special NC Blueberry displays in Food Lion during the season in a Bisquick promotion. Berries are featured on the Bisquick containers and Bisquick product will be paired with NC Blueberries in special displays throughout the state.
Ads will appear in newspapers statewide letting the consumer know that blueberries are currently available in local roadside stands, farmers markets and groceries. Advertising will direct the consumer to the homepage of this website where local sources for NC Blueberries can be located.
