Grain Grading is a self-supporting fee service that is available to farmers and the grain industry in the state. Grain graders in North Carolina are licensed and supervised by U.S.D.A. to issue U.S. Grades on lots of grain being offered for inspection. Grain graders in the state act as referees between buyers and sellers of grain. NCDA personnel aid the grain industry by training their personnel to grade grains by the standards set forth by the U.S.D.A. NCDA graders are licensed to grade the following : corn, soybeans, wheat, oats, rye, sorghum, barley and sunflower.
