Marketing
To meet the marketing needs of the industry, this section includes the following different areas of work: North Carolina Egg Law, North Carolina Apple and Peach Labeling Law, Apple Maturity Regulation, US Egg Surveillance Act, and the North Carolina Egg Tax Law. The program is administered by 4 full time employees serving statewide on a regional basis. Under the North Carolina Egg Law, regulatory personnel inspect eggs in grocery stores and restaurants for grade, weight, class, and temperature requirements. Inspectors monitor apples and peaches as closed containers. These are required to show type, grade, minimum size, net weight or count, and name and address of shipper.
