Pecan growers to meet in Goldsboro Feb. 9

RALEIGH —The N.C. Pecan Growers Association will hold its annual meeting at 8 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Wayne County Extension Center in Goldsboro.

Pecan growers and anyone interested in pecan production are invited to attend the daylong event which will include educational workshops and an orchard visit.  Participants do not have to be a member of the association to attend the meeting.

“Attendees will learn about the latest in pecan management and production, irrigation, pest management and the pecan association’s outreach efforts with school children,” said Laurie Wood, horticultural marketing specialist with the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
