Seed and Fertilizer Inspection
The color coded map below shows the geographical work areas for the Seed and Fertilizer Inspectors. North Carolina Seed Specialists provide regulatory inspection of seed offered for sale in North Carolina. Inspections are made at points of sale and assess compliance with the Seed Law and Regulations. Inspections include review of seed labels and observations of seed quality. Specialists are authorized to collect seed samples for laboratory testing and issue stop sale orders for seed lots out of compliance with regulatory requirements.
Nine Fertilizer Inspectors provide regulatory inspection of fertilizer and lime offered for sale in North Carolina. Inspections are made at points of sale and assess compliance with the Fertilizer and Lime Laws and Regulations. Inspections include review of labels and observations of fertilizer and lime quality. Inspectors are authorized to collect fertilizer and lime samples for laboratory testing and issue stop sale orders for lots out of compliance with regulatory requirements.
