Standards Laboratory Section
The Standards Laboratory Section performs mass, length, volume, and temperature measurement calibrations that are traceable to national standards. Also responsible for inspecting grain moisture meters.
The North Carolina Standards Laboratory is accredited by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) for the scope of accreditation under NVLAP Lab Code 200495-0. The laboratory is recognized by NVLAP for compliance with criteria set forth in NIST Handbook 150:2001, all requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:1999, and relevant requirements of ISO 9002:1994. Accreditation is awarded for specific services as listed on the Scope of Accreditation at: http://ts.nist.gov/Standards/scopes/2004950.pdf.

A Submitted Equipment Information Form must be provided with all weights and measures standards subitted for calibration.
