Livestock Dealer


Description:

Any person desiring to be licensed as a livestock dealer shall make application to the Commissioner of Agriculture. Such application shall contain the address, both business and personal, of the applicant. No financial information shall be required from the applicant.

Requirements:

In addition to being licensed, you must also be bonded by the Packers and Stockyards Administration of the United States Department of Agriculture, their phone number is (404) 562-5840. When you receive the "registration number", we are requesting that you provide it to us. In order that we may process your application, please complete and sign it and return one copy to this office. The other copy is for your records. The applicable law and regulations should be carefully reviewed so that you will be knowledgeable and can comply with them.

Whenever an applicant has complied with this Article, the Commissioner shall issue to such applicant a license which shall entitle the licenses to engage in the business of livestock dealer for a period of one year,unless such license is sooner suspended, or revoked in accordance with the provisions of this Article.

No fee shall be charged.
